From an Indian Origin Neurosurgeon in NHS / UK
My view as a doctor (after working in UK NHS and understanding European health system) - Government of India (any damn political party) is so irresponsible and negligent toward health system that a normal (private or government) doctor has to bear the burden of the whole health system and face the consequences if anything goes wrong in poorly managed government health setup which tends to happen always!!!
My humble suggestions to the government, BEFORE IMPLEMENTING ANY RULE FOR PRIVATE PRACTICE FIRST GET YOURSELF RIGHT!
1. Make tertiary care level Hospitals (one or more) in every city and villages of India.
2. Maintaining safe Hospital doctor/bed to the Patient ratio for effective and safe delivery of health care services.
3. Free of cost quality health care, medication, and immunization.
4. Pay Doctors and Staff well (as per international standards in the government sector).
5. Free ambulance services through the nation.
6. Free Facilities for old age and rehabilitation.
7. Now every Indian is paying 10-30%tax and GST so deserves best health care (better than the private sector).
8. Strict Law enforcement and IPC to protect doctors and medical staff.
9. Funding for doctors and paramedical professionals who want to spend some time in research for uplifting Indian healthcare Standard Internationally.
10. Create a separate staff to maintain a medical database for research and international comparisons.
11. Effective measures to control communicable(infectious) diseases which are still rampant in India compared to other countries.
Dear Government, other countries are providing more than above-mentioned facilities and still Don’t interferes with private practice.
In UK single private consultation for 20 min is £200 ( Rs. 16000!), and neither Government, not a common man is bothered coz NHS (govt hospitals) are so fantastic but with a waiting list!
In India Government shuns all its responsibilities and expects private hospitals to fulfill all responsibilities to patients with cheap and effective healthcare which is not possible.
PRIVATE HEALTH CARE WILL BE EXPENSIVE DEAR GOVERNMENT!!!! SO IF YOU CARE FOR YOUR PUBLIC GET YOUR PRIORITIES RIGHT AND START MAKING BUDGET FOR FREE/AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE IN SPITE OF DOING SCAMS AND MONEY LAUNDERING OF MILLIONS OF PUBLIC MONEY!!!!
It is NOT US, IT is YOU WHO NEED TO ACT!!! The above comments
